We're a very diverse group so you're going to see a variety of experience and knowledge. Remember to be respectful and constructive with your communication to your fellow members.
In particular, please refrain from posting anything unlawful, libelous, defamatory, obscene, profane, pornographic, indecent, lewd, harassing, threatening, harmful, invasive of privacy or publicity rights, abusive, inflammatory or otherwise objectionable or injurious to third parties.
Work together! Share knowledge, provide feedback, and help each other out. Answer an unanswered question. Follow categories that interest you and look for topics that could use your expertise.
You should not post personal information publicly on the community including your home address or Social Security Number. While many members are happy to help out, please remember that their advice is theirs only and that you are responsible for deciding whether or not to follow it.
Leverage our resources. Search the community and try to resolve your issue before posting a new question. If you don't find a solution, tell us what you've tried so far. The more trouble shooting you do, the easier it will be for others to help!

If you think the Alfresco community would benefit from hearing about your Alfresco related product, service, or event, please post it in the appropriate place. Posts in other areas will be deleted, and repeated sales or marketing outside of these guidelines may result in termination of your account. Partners, we know our customers are sensitive to marketing so we ask that you refrain from promoting your outside events, webinars, books, and websites outside of your own profile. You can show off your knowledge and experience by answering customer questions and connecting with customers in that manner.
Several community members will serve as Moderators. The designation allows the community to know which members have been deemed knowledgable, have provided constructive advice and have set a positive example and tone for the community. Like any information on the site, the opinions and advice provided by these members are their own. They will have the ability to delete content that is inappropriate, misleading or doesn't follow our guidelines and report any behavior that violates these guidelines to the community manager.

- Under Be Collaborative: "update the documents" what did you mean by this? Don't want to get it confused with docs.alfresco.com
- Richard Esplin and Ole Hejlskov - what do you think of the NO SELLING para above for Partners? We will also have a jobs board. I am also going to check with a couple of other members of the working group what they think about this.
Hey Helen Trim - I read through the "before you post" things in the community and I think a lot of that content would be better in a "how to get your question answered" blog post. I don't want the community guidelines to read too technical and details about source code, etc. would be a better fit elsewhere I think.
For "update the docs" I was thinking more about the ability to collaborate on shared documents. But we could add "rate the docs" or "make suggestions to docs," etc. Just something saying they can work together to create documents and provide feedback on ours.
It would be easier to suggest changes if this were a Google Doc.
Regarding "updating the docs", how about "update the information"?
I would make two changes to the "No Spam" paragraph:
* I would delete the "No Selling" phrase of the title. I think it is better handled with nuance in the paragraph.
* I would change the message to partners to say something like "if you think the Alfresco community would benefit from hearing about your Alfresco related product, service, or event, please post it in the appropriate place (link). Posts in other areas will be deleted, and repeated sales or marketing outside of these guidelines may result in termination of your account." I think you should keep the line about the best way to advertise is to answer questions.
I swear Helen Trim and I updated that docs bit, but perhaps I didn't save the changes. I've swapped that out with a "provide feedback" being that they'll be able to mark things as helpful or comment on docs.
Updated the selling bit as well. We'll add a link to our "unofficial announcements" section.
