My OS is Windows 7 professional edition with MS Office 2013 and 201702 GA release of Alfresco Community Edition. When I try to edit a DOCX or XLSX from Alfresco Share, MS Word and Excel start but the documents are not displayed. I have the registry keys of basic authentication set to 2. In fact when I try to open a DOCX or XLSX via WEBDAV it works correctly. The problem is inside Alfresco share.
Is there someone who has solved this problem?
Thanks.
Carlo
could you describe your server environment? Are you using alfresco on your Windows Workstation (localhost)?
If yes, maybe you have to adjust the share.context variable in .../alfresco/tomcat/shared/classes/alfresco-global.properties.
Have you tried "edit in Microsoft office" or "edit offline"?
Are there any hints in your alfresco.log, share.log or catalina.out (.../alfresco/tomcat/logs)
regards...
Hi Martin,
this is my environment:
Thanks.

Maybe two suggestions before I can look into this in more detail. Is your document located in the repository root? If true try to move it to a subfolder and open it from there.
change share.host to 127.0.0.1 and restart Alfresco to eliminate a possible problem with the localhost url.
My document is located into a subfolder.
I changed alfresco-global.properties as follow:
alfresco.context=alfresco
alfresco.host=127.0.0.1
alfresco.port=8080
alfresco.protocol=http
share.context=share
share.host=127.0.0.1
share.port=8080
share.protocol=http
The problem still exists.
Let me know.
Carlo
The next thing would be to allow ms office to authenticate over non https connections - if don't have already done it. The default protocol for ms office connections is https.
you would have to edit your registry HKLM\system\currentcontrolset\services\webclient\parameters
create a new DWORD subkey BasicAuthLevel with a value of 2
But this is a security risk, only ok to use on your local workstation.
Already done (as written in the previous messages "Both the registry keys of basic authentication are set to 2).
Sorry I haven't seen this - it seems to be more a windows than Alfresco problem. Have you set up Alfresco sso (ntlm ?) or is web-virus-Defence in the way....
Alfresco SSO is configured.
I also tried with antivirus and firewall disabled but the problem still exists.
Webbrowser is?
