Contentstore size larger than what is downloaded

Hi

We have a community 5.2 instance.

- This has more than 400k files in storage.

- I downloaded all the files (sites folder) using rclone (webdav sync) and the size downloaded is 600 GB on the local disk (checked with du -h).

- But the disk usage of the contentstore folder (NOT contentstore.deleted) is closer to 700 GB.

- I have checked in the database, and sum of content size from there is also 600 GB.

What are the possible reasons for contentstore having 100GB extra? It is not do with older versions of documents, because our users normally do not version documents. There may be some versioning, but it is unlikely to explain such a huge discrepancy.

I guess that may be due to folder structure, since physical alf_data folders (year/month/day/...) is quite different from logical folder structure in the Repository.
