Hi,

I installed the Alfresco community version alfresco 5.0.d on a CentOS 6.6 system according to http://docs.alfresco.com/community/tasks/simpleinstall-community-lin-text.html. But if I now try to access alfresco from my windows-pc using http://:8080/share or only http://:8080 I just got unable to connect. I also tried to restart alfresco with ./alfresco.sh stop and ./alfresco.sh start but still not working. On the same linux server moodle, joomla and wordpress are running for test purposes. They are all accessable and running without problems. Is Apache Webserver running in parallel a problem? But I tried to stop Apache and restart Alfresco but still the problem. I also made sure that the firewall of the company opened port 8080. Any other ports that have to be open? Then I discovered in alfresco.log many error messages/exceptions that I cannot interprete. See the attached log-file.

Thanks in advance for help!

I've looked at your catalina.log file and its clear why you can't reach it.

2015-06-11 11:54:14,122  WARN  [org.alfresco.fileserver] [localhost-startStop-1] CIFS, Unable to get local domain/workgroup name, using default of WORKGROUP. This may be due to firewall settings or incorrect <broadcast> setting)‍‍‍

You don't have the correct DNS, hostname, or firewall settings. If you are in a network infrastructure then talk with your IT administrator about making sure the ports are open on the network firewall to access alfresco.

If you want to access your install from outside of your network then make sure DNS is working and that an entry is there.

thanks for quick reply, but that warning is for CIFS. The Ports 80, 8080 and 5432 are open. Maybe for CIFS also other ports have to be open. But only for accessing the webpage 80, 8080 and 5432 should be enough.

Again, I'll say…you don't have the correct dns entry. at a command prompt type hostname and see if that is the correct hostname that you have in the alfresco install.

Using an IP address is "ok" not really ideal though.

Edit: Have you looked at your apache logs (I think your using that if my memory is correct) to see if there are any errors there?

when I type hostname I get the correct entry, the same which is in alfresco-global.properties:
alfresco.context=alfresco
alfresco.host=myhostname
alfresco.port=8080
alfresco.protocol=http

share.context=share
share.host=myhostname
share.port=8080
share.protocol=http

Or is there any other place where I have to configure the hostname?
