From old Alfresco Community edition 5.0 to latest Enterprise edition

Jump to solution

Hi,

  We are using Alfresco community edition 5.0 and try to upgrade to latest enterprise edition.

1) can our 5.0 upgrade to latest enterprise edition?  or how can we SAFELY upgrade from community 5 to latest enterprise edition.

2) what is the latest enterprise edition ?

3) Any doc to show how to upgrade community edition 5.0 to latest enterprise edition ?

is there any work load requirement for latest enterprise edition? e.g. 8 core for 100 users ?

I have already seen you ask about upgrading to ACS 7.0, so you must surely know that the latest version of Enterprise is ACS 7.0. And assuming you are already an Enterprise customer (which you would need to be in order to try upgrading), then you can check in the Hyland Support Portal what specific service pack / hotfix release of ACS 7.0 is currently available to you.

1) No, such a direct upgrade is not supported, neither from Community 5.0 nor from Enterprise 5.0 directly to ACS Enterprise 7.0. You should first upgrade to Community 5.2, then the latest Enterprise 5.2, and from there you can go straight to 7.0

2) There likely is some ACS 7.0 hotfix already for Enterprise, so an 7.0.0.X should be available in the Hyland support portal

3) Google Search or Search in docs.alfresco.com should yield you this: https://docs.alfresco.com/content-services/latest/upgrade/

hi,

tks.

 good information.

ok. upgrade path is :

1) Community 5.0 -> Community 5.2

2) Community 5.2 - > Enterprise 5.2

3) Enterprise 5.2 -> Enterprise 7

4) Enterprise 7 ACS 7.0 hotfix

right ?

hi,

any URL shows Alfresco Community edition 7.0 already has enhancement on content store speed enhancement on loading doc/pdf ?

upgrade from Alfresco Community edition 5.0 to Alfresco Community edition 7.0 should improvce the speed of loading doc ?

and we only use Alfresco API functions. from community 7.0 release note I don't see any enhancement on Alfresco API function ?

this is what I got after reading any URL and doc on the improvement on Alfresco 7

  • reduced number of queries when loading the file plan and the document library in Share - MNT-21818
  • better performance on viewing the retention schedule metadata for a category containing numerous children
  • better response time for My Files, Sites, and Records Management in a large repository
  •  The latest release of Alfresco Search Services for Community Edition is 2.0. Solr 6 is the underlying search engine for 2.0. Solr 4 will continue to be available for ACS 5.2 users to facilitate upgrades.
  • Starting from community 6.2, we can use mariaDB cluster, MySQL cluster as the backend DB.

any more you can suggestion about performance boosting ?
