Missing Classification

Jump to solution

Hi,

I have been trying to deploy the alfresco content services, all seems to work okay except the creation of a tag and a category. When I try to create the category I get the following error:

2019-11-27 13:21:10,410 ERROR [org.springframework.extensions.webscripts.AbstractRuntime] [ajp-nio-8009-exec-2] Exception from executeScript: 10270001 Wrapped Exception (with status template): 10270022 Failed to execute script 'classpath*:alfresco/templates/webscripts/org/alfresco/slingshot/documentlibrary/doclist.get.js': 10270021 Failed to execute search: +@cm\:modified:[2019\-11\-20T00\:00\:00.000 TO 2019\-11\-27T23\:59\:59.999] +@cm\:modifier:"admin" +TYPE:"cm:content" -TYPE:"cm:systemfolder" -TYPE:"fm:forums" -TYPE:"fm:forum" -TYPE:"fm:topic" -TYPE:"fm:post" +(TYPE:"content" OR TYPE:"app:filelink" OR TYPE:"folder")

The hint seems to be the `Missing classification`. Can someone help with this? I checked a lot of documents from the documentation but they are not clear to me. How should I create classification? Why is it needed to create a category and why the tag fails with the same error?

Thanks in advance.

It seems to me Solr is not seeing Alfresco right now. Check these:

  • Look for errors at Solr logs. Check whether there are communication errors. Post the logs here if you are not sure.
  • You an also look at Solr admin console (localhost:8983/solr) for errors. Check the "logging" menu.
  • Check that not only the cores are being created, but that Alfresco models are being imported into Solr. They can be found at alfresco-search-services/data/alfrescoModels, at least in docker installation. If models are not imported, there's a communication problem between Alfresco and Solr.
  • Check the cores' properties. They can be found at alfresco-search-services/solrhome/alfresco/conf/solrcore.properties. Check alfresco.host and alfresco.port are correctly pointing to Alfresco, they should be localhost and 8080 respectively in an ootb installation.
  • Are you using ssl in your installation?

This error:

Caused by: org.alfresco.repo.search.impl.lucene.LuceneQueryParserException: 10270020 Request failed 500 /solr/alfresco/alfresco?wt=json&fl=DBID%2Cscore&rows=50&df=TEXT&start=0&locale=en_US&alternativeDic=DEFAULT_DICTIONARY&sort=%40cm%3Amodified+desc&fq=%7B%21afts%7DAUTHORITY_FILTER_FROM_JSON&fq=%7B%21afts%7DTENANT_FILTER_FROM_JSON

says that your solr installation is not working properly.

Go to admin tools -> node browser and check whether the initial query returns ok or not. If solr is not OK, it will return the error above, or something similar.

Check then solr installation, solr logs, and check solr is talking properly to Alfresco.

Thank you very much for the information I found an inconsistency with my solr version. I will continue working on this to see If I can make it works.

Re: Missing Classification

Hi again,

I found some inconsistencies with the java version in the Solr installation with the Alfresco Classes.

Using Openjdk8, Solr 6 is not able to initialize and it throws an error because an alfresco class has been compiled using Java 11 instead of java 8. The error is the following:

o.a.s.c.SolrCore null:java.lang.UnsupportedClassVersionError: org/alfresco/error/AlfrescoRuntimeException has been compiled by a more recent version of the Java Runtime (class file version 55.0), this version of the Java Runtime only recognizes class file versions up to 52.0

So, I changed the JDK installation from JDK 8 to 11, removed the "endorsed" directory and deleted some properties from the solr.in.sh file that are not compatible with java 11, to get Solr running. Then, the cores cannot be created because of some missing Alfresco classes, that are actually inside a jar that is included.

What can I do to solve that? Which are the necesary libraries to create the cores for alfresco?

Looking to the Solr documentation:

Lucene/Solr 7.0 was the first version that successfully passed our tests using Java 9 and higher. You should avoid Java 9 or later for Lucene/Solr 6.x or earlier.

Attending to that sentence, as alfresco depends on Solr 6.x for the search service engine, how is it possible for alfresco to use java 11 even if Solr doesn't support it?

Looking to the alfresco documentation:

ACS is now runnable with OpenJDK 11.0.1. It still remains compatible with JDK 1.8

Which is inconsistent with the Solr documentation, and I checked it is not possible to run it with JDK 1.8

I will be really grateful if someone can clarify this.

I would like to know the versions of JDK and Solr that should be used to get the alfresco search services working.

Re: Missing Classification

I understand you are deploying Alfresco installation the "old way" in an unix system, tomcat, share and alfresco webapps, alfresco-search-services, etc... JDK version must always be 11 for the server in this deployment type.

Alfresco-search-services, AFAIK, runs OK with JDK11 out of the box, we have never had problems regarding jdk version. Which alfresco-search-services did you install? Maybe I would suggest to remove current solr install and download this one:

https://download.alfresco.com/cloudfront/release/community/SearchServices/1.4.0/alfresco-search-serv...

In last standalone install we did (although it was on windows environment), we installed version 1.3.0.1, and had to perform this changes to make it work properly:

  1. Modify shared.properties file in order to have cross-locale search working.
  2. Modify solr.in.sh and comment GC_LOG_OPTS environment setting (we dit it in solr.in.cmd, maybe it's not necessary)

Then start solr with arguments start -f -a "-Dcreate.alfresco.defaults=alfresco,archive". If your Alfresco is installed in other port than 8080, you'll have to change alfresco.host property in both solr cores, and restart.

Hope it helps

Re: Missing Classification

Hi,

Thanks for the response,

I have been trying to configure it again. After getting the cores created in Solr, I continue getting an error with tags and categories.

11260001 Wrapped Exception (with status template): 11260046 Failed to execute script 'classpath*:alfresco/templates/webscripts/org/alfresco/repository/tagging/tags.get.js': 11260045 Request failed 500 /solr/alfresco/alfresco?wt=json&fl=DBID%2Cscore&rows=1000&df=TEXT&start=0&locale=en_US&alternativeDic=DEFAULT_DICTIONARY&fq=%7B%21afts%7DAUTHORITY_FILTER_FROM_JSON&fq=%7B%21afts%7DTENANT_FILTER_FROM_JSON

Checking the logs files, they say that there is a script that cannot be executed called `tags.get.js`. I checked the permissions and they are correct, it should be able to read and execute it using the user that is running Tomcat and Solr (it is the same user).

I checked Solr is running, and Alfresco is correctly configured to connect to it. I saw similar errors on the web but not a solution for it. Do you have any idea?

Alfresco is running properly but it seems the search-services component is giving errors.

Hi @narkuss ,

I really appreciate your help. The problem was the port in Solr was not correct as I changed the alfresco port to 80. Thank you very much for your responses. Not it is working properly.
