After tomcat re-start, debug appears to kick in, as the log file shows… but nothing shows up in alfresco.log following the authentication attempts.

Any ideas?
there's currently no firewall and I wouldn't know how to tweak Tomcat to allow/block this traffic but it must be somewhere in tomcat's configuration I guess because as you suggested, I also tested in a standard Tomcat (bundled with Suse) and it worked.

I am using alfresco / share 3.4 and I managed to install Alfresco smoothly.
First, I was using the default app path configuration: http://localhost:8080/alfresco and http://localhost:8080/share. With this configuration, I could login into Share with Alfresco users.
However, I needed to change the path to http://localhost:8080/es/alfresco and http://localhost:8080/share but now I can only login into Alfresco Explorer and not into Share. I get this error: "The remote server may be unavailable or your authentication details have not been recognized."
Do you have any idea where I can change the Share configuration to look into the new path?
Cheers!

tomcat\shared\classes\alfresco\web-extension\share-config-custom.xml
Enable (remove XML comments) around the Remote section on changing the ports, and update the endpoint-url to the new alfresco url e.g.
<config evaluator="string-compare" condition="Remote"> <remote> <endpoint>

Access to Alfresco Repository WebScripts that do not require authentication
<connector-id>alfresco</connector-id> <endpoint-url>http://localhost:8080/es/alfresco/s</endpoint-url> <identity>none</identity> </endpoint> <endpoint>

Access to Alfresco Repository WebScripts that require user authentication
<connector-id>alfresco</connector-id> <endpoint-url>http://localhost:8080/es/alfresco/s</endpoint-url> <identity>user</identity> </endpoint> <endpoint>

Alfresco Feed - supports basic HTTP authentication via the EndPointProxyServlet
<connector-id>http</connector-id> <endpoint-url>http://localhost:8080/es/alfresco/s</endpoint-url> <basic-auth>true</basic-auth> <identity>user</identity> </endpoint> </remote> </config>

Thanks for your reply.
I installed Alfresco Explorer and Share based on war files and did not used the standard installation.
However, I could find the share-config.xml file.
The Remote section did not exist. I created one like your example and it worked
Thanks again.

I tried all the options suggested and still not able to login to /share. Additionally, I am not even prompted with authentication credentials when I try to access /alfresco. Please help, am new to Alfresco and running it on ubuntu 11.04.

Any idea, need of a log file ?Yes - unfortunately there's very little anyone can help you with without some more detail.
Thanks,
Mike
