Create custom variable (JSON) in Alfresco Process Services

I have one variable named Documents as below in APS having its type as string.

One API is getting called in APS and accepting the JSON as response in the Documents variable, but the issue I am facing is that there is no option to set variable type as JSON out of the box, So if anyone can suggest what can be done or how to create custom variable type to accept JSON.
