When importing the record_space.acp (see http://wiki.alfresco.com/wiki/Records_Management_User_Guide ) into version 1.4 Community Edition the following error is displayed:
I presume this means that the records space model/component needs to be registered and setup correctly before you can use it.
Importing this worked fine in the preview release of version 1.4. This post indicates that the records management component has to be configured in the final release:
http://forums.alfresco.com/viewtopic.php?t=3683
I've spent some time trying to figure out how to do this but to no avail.
If someone more knowlegable than me can post how to do this (even just the basic steps) I'll update the Records Management Guide in the wiki.
Please correct the import errors below then click OK.
Failed to execute import: org.alfresco.service.cmr.view.ImporterException: Failed to import package at line 84; column 48 due
to error: Namespace URI http://www.alfresco.org/model/record/1.0 has not been defined in the repository dictionary

I made the mistake of removing the release candidate version (which worked in regards to the Records Management piece) and installing the official 1.4 release. Now, I too cannot import the records management space as outlined, and there is no File Plan template integrated in. Is there some sort of documentation that explains how to get this working?

Hi,
Before the final 1.4 release the records management extension code was moved into a separate project and no longer shipped within the standard download.
This has been done so that we can consolidate and improve the records management features we can offer. The plan is to release this extension package sometime in the next few weeks so if there is no hurry for this functionality I would wait until then.
However, if you do want to import the ACP then you will need model and other configuration that was previously found in the 1.4 preview release. This can be done by simply copying the relevant configuration files across from the 1.4 preview release.
Hope this helps,
Roy

Thanks for the info…while the records management piece is finalized, I'll keep working in the release candidate version so I can understand the functionality.

Copied from 1.4 community PREVIEW to 1.4 community FINAL:
WEB-INF/classes/alfresco/model/recordsModel.xml
In the file: WEB-INF/classes/alfresco/core-services-context.xml, added:
<value>alfresco/model/recordsModel.xml</value>
below the line:
<value>alfresco/model/forumModel.xml</value>
I don't get any error importing, but there still isn't a space created.
What other steps do I need to take?
Many thanks …
