Create a custom file viewer/editor

Hi, I want create a custom file viewer/editor for a specific file format, eg. "*.foo". The "*.foo" files are a property owner format. There are some tutorialial, documentation, examples, for integrate an external viewer/editor for a specific file format?

I’m not the author but since it says viewer I wouldn’t be too optimistic. I started writing one to inject code caves and its such a pita trying to get additions working some times.
