I'd just like to clarify of the Activiti Model supplied by Signavio, has been contributed to the Activti project under the same Apache 2.0 license as the rest of the BPM engine, etc?
I ask because Signavio seems to be a superset of Oryx and on the Oryx website it states that Signavio Modeller is 10% Oryx open source and 90% close source.

The Activiti Modeler is 100% MIT licence, which is an as liberal licence as (and which is compatible with) the Apache licence.

Thanks for the quick response. So Is the Activiti Modeler the same as the Signavio Process Editor or is it a cut down version? Also how does it differ from Oryx?

It is not the same as the Signavio Process Editor, which has a lot more advanced features and collaboration tools.
The Activiti Modeler is based on the Oryx codebase (which is also true for the Signavio Process Editor), with a few enhancements specific for Activiti, done by the Signavio people. The Signavio people are also the main committers to the Oryx project.
