TrueZIP currently implements the ZIP32 specification only. This limits the maximum ZIP file length to 4GB and the compound size of the name and comment to 64KB per entry. Please note that there are plans to support the ZIP64 format. It is currently evaluated how backwards compatibility could be provided and transparency for applications be retained.
New in TrueZIP 6.7: The ZIP API now supports ZIP64 extensions. This enables client applications to read and write ZIP archive files of more than 4GB size. Handling ZIP64 extensions is fully transparent for client applications. By default, ZIP64 extensions are written to a ZIP file only if they are required so that maximum interoperability with third party tools is retained.
