Comments regarding the 'generic'ness of these instructions:


  • Instructions apply to Red Hat-derived Linux distros. Red Hat, CentOS, Fedora, and others. That's actually not very 'generic' Smiley Happy
  • Not just YUM, but RPM is assumed to be installed
  • It would be nice if the distro assumptions were stated more clearly, but it did say CentOS and that does imply a number of things like the aforementioned RPM, even though not explicitly stated.
  • I need to get this working on Debian (Ubuntu, actually) and Solaris. I'll try to update these instructions with those in mind.
